Colostomy Bag
The right Colostomy Bag depends partly on the type of colostomy. An Ascending colostomy produces aqueous waste with strong odor. Transverse colostomies lead to mushy outputs and high odor. Descending colostomies create more solid matter and less odor. Sigmoid colostomies generate solid matter. Generally, Ascending and Transverse colostomies are better handled with drainable colostomy bags, whereas Descending and Sigmoid colostomies with closed colostomy bags. They both come in one and two piece options.
